Jan Florence Garven is an artist who specializes in mixed media. She often combines metal, wax, string, seeds or netting and screening materials to convey conceptual images.
Jan received her undergraduate education in music at the University of Illinois. Over the years, Jan's artistic expression evolved toward visual art. Jan and her husband Jim have raised two sons, Chad and Erik, and live in Austin, Texas.
